Some people just don’t want to go under the knife, but want to have the best looking facial appearance possible with out surgery. Enter the nonsurgical face lift—a way of looking good without the knife as part of the equation. It can save you time, excess cost, irreversible changes to your face and other difficulties that can happen in a surgical face lift. There are many choices in nonsurgical face lifts. The non surgical facelift really is not a facelift but smaller procedure or combinations of procedures to freshen the face.
One choice is a thread facelift. It involves inserting a needle attached to which is barbed thread. The needle goes in the direction of lifting the face and the barbs catch on facial tissue, allowing you to have the barbs hold up sagging skin. Several threads are included in the process in order to lift the entire face. The major side effects are that the threads or barbs can show through the skin and the face can look irregular if it is not done properly. We have used this for many years, the results are subtle, do lift tke skin and patients return to work rather quickly.
Thermage is another choice in a nonsurgical facelift. It is used in men and women who want an improvement in their face, but also want to do it without scars. Thermage employs the use of radiofrequency energy onto the skin. This energy stimulates the growth of collagen in the treated areas. Collagen fills in wrinkles and makes it easier to look wrinkle-free. It reduces laxity on the face as well. The treatment itself takes only about an hour of your time relatively painless. Minor swelling and redness go away after a couple of days. Most people go straight back to work. This too we have used many years and the results are good, continue to improve over time. This is very good for people with thicker skin. We have never seen a complication with this procedure.
You can have a laser facelift as well. This involves the use of a laser under anesthesia. There is no scarring and the laser treatment resurfaces the face, tightens the outer layer of the face and promotes collagen formation. You may have some slight discomfort and discoloration for a week or two that eventually passes. It takes about a month to see the major effects of the procedure and these can continue up until a year.
Cremes and potions
Another nonsurgical facelift can be done using creams and other skin care products. Many creams contain amino acids that restore the skin to a more youthful state. Some contain alpha hydroxy acids that can exfoliate the skin and make it softer and more supple with a lack of the signs of sun damage on the face. This works best with skin that is thin and not a good candidate for surgical face lifts.
Fillers and Injectables
Other options are combining injectable fillers with Botox, and Dysport and other brands of paralytic agents selectively to rid ones self of wrinkles. Though it seems every doctor in the planet is using these in their practice these days , to really have a good result like with any thing else , training and experience using these very important. We at the Infinity Life Center have doctors some who were the first in Hawaii to use these products over 30 years ago. It was not until that last 5-10 years that they have become popular and wide spread. If done correctly and with the right combination of fillers and botulism toxins many years can be taken off the face.
